Kongonaphon kely, a kind of dinosaur with a height of 10 centimeters

Kongonaphon kely, or ‘tiny bug slayer’, is about the size of a glass of coffee. Animals that lived in Madagascar about 237 million years ago in the Triassic period were 10 centimeters in size. According to scientists, K. kely belongs to the Ornithodira group: the last ancestor of all dinosaurs and pterosaurs.

"There is a common perception that dinosaurs are giant creatures," said Christian Kammerer, a paleontologist from the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.

"However, the latest animal we found is very close to the diversity of dinosaurs and pterosaurs even though their bodies are very small," he added.

How did such a colossal creature evolve from such a small origin? The answer is never entirely clear, because so few specimens from the Ornithodira lineage have ever been found and studied.

Therefore, the K. kely framework found is very important. It was first discovered at a 1998 field study at a fossil site in Madagascar along with hundreds of other ancient specimens.

"It will take some time before we can focus on these bones. However, after doing so, we realize this is very unique and deserves further study, "said John Flynn, a paleontologist from the American Museum of Natural History.

K. kely is the smallest species known from the dinosaurmorph family. In fact, several studies of Ornithodira have said that they have a small body. However, this latest discovery further confirms this.

"Although dinosaurs are identical to gigantism, evolutionary analysis shows that the earliest group members may be smaller than previously thought," write the researchers in their study published in the journal PNAS.

Most of the Ancient Statues Lost Their Noses, Why Did It Happen?

If it happens once or twice, maybe you can consider it an accident. However, if most of the ancient statues have been damaged in the nose, something suspicious has happened. It is clear that it was intentional, but who did it and why? Edward Bleiberg, curator at the Brooklyn Museum's Egyptian art gallery, said that at first he also didn't pay attention. However, when many visitors asked about the disappearance of the ancient statues' noses, Bleiberg only tried to find out. He conducted research on facial destruction and its relation to life after death. "The consistency of the pattern shows that it was done intentionally. Not only sculpture, 2D relief also shows intentional destruction, "Bleiberg said. Location of the 12 Thousand Years Old Mine Found in the Underwater Cave

An underwater cave on the Yukatan Peninsula, Mexico, is filled with a vast archeological labyrinth. Maybe it has never been found anywhere else on Earth. Preserved in caves full of water, cenotes (natural drainage holes in Mexico) hold treasures about Mayan secrets. In addition, the discovery of this ancient artifact also reveals a more ancient prehistoric story. "This underwater cave is like a time capsule," said Ed Reinhardt, an experienced diver and micropaleontologist from McMaster University. "There is clear evidence of ocher mining carried out thousands of years ago," he added. During a dive in 2017, Reindhart and his fellow researchers explore a cave on the Quintana Roo coastline. The caves in the area are known to hold ancient skeletons of people w
